This type of treatment is an adequate way to remove organic matter (COD) and Total Suspended Solids (TSS) but is inconsistent when it comes to phosphorous and nitrogen removal. The EBR Technology is simple and low cost and could well be the game changer that these municipalities have been waiting for a long time to meet actual and coming regulations.
Although these plants offer a much more complete treatment solution for municipalities, they will have to be upgraded in the coming years in order to meet more stringent regulations on phosphorous and nitrogen.
