Food processing plants such as slaughterhouses are producing large quantities of wastewater that needs to be treated before they are released into the sewer system. Breweries and fish farms are also very much in need of innovative solutions such as the EBR Technolgy.
The mining sector has major problems with the treatment of their wastewater mainly for their nitrogen concentrations (blasting) and heavy metals. Kourant has initiated R&D work to adapt the EBR Technology to this promising sector.
Landfill sites are producing large quantities of wastewater (leachate) that contains large amounts of phosphorous, nitrogen and heavy metals. Kourant will soon begin testing its EBR Technology to this type of wastewater. Another potential application for the technology is the wastewater coming from solid waste anaerobic digestors.
